The Kitty Store Story

I have been working in the education industry ever since I graduated from university. With 2 kids at home, I feel that I should devote more time to them and therefore took a very big step by resigning from my job. I am not a sit at home type of mum and feel that I should contribute to the family too and started thinking about what I can do with the skills that I have. Ultimately the new venture needs to be flexible and lo and behold I thought of starting up an online store but have no idea on what to sell.

As a child I love Hello Kitty, My Melody, Little Twin Stars and most of the Sanrio characters (remember Tuxedo Sam?). However at that time, Sanrio goods are not easily available unlike today. As I grow older I also started to enjoy baking and experimenting with various type of cuisine. This bright idea came to my mind suddenly that I can combine both my interest together and start something that I personally enjoy. I started to research on the types of products that is available in the market and overseas and found a lot of houseware and kitchenware that features evergreen characters like Hello Kitty (she is 35 years old this year), My Melody, Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh and Thomas and Friends but are not easily available in here.

As a mum, I also came across many instances where kids refuse to eat vegetables, meat etc and will only eat certain type of food. I hope that with the tools that I am selling here, food will look more interesting to them and they will eat healthily. Meal time can be a joy for the person making it as well as the person easting it; it does not need to be a struggle every time. A good example would be my daughter who does not eat boiled egg, she only eats fried eggs. When I gave her a boiled egg in the shape of Mickey Mouse, she happily ate the egg without even thinking twice. Her only comment was "Is there a Minnie Mouse egg too?". I will keep posting new ideas and recipes as they come along and hope that everybody can enjoy it too. The Kitty Store is for everybody from 1 to 99 years old, there is something for you no matter how old you are. All the products that you see here are genuine products and imported from either Japan, Korea, Taiwan or Hong Kong.
